-Quartier Petit-Champlain (950 m): North America’s oldest shopping district will win you over with its colourful decorative art shops and sophisticated designer and artisanal boutiques. From its cobblestone pedestrian streets, you’ll admire the inviting windows of historic homes in a romantic environment.

- Rue Saint-Jean (550 m) : You’ll fall in love with rue Saint-Jean’s European vibe! Outside the fortifications, you’ll find delightful original shops, artisanal boutiques, and specialty food shops. Inside the ramparts, you’ll discover clothing and souvenir shops galore, including Maison Simons, one of the oldest clothing store in Canada. It’s the perfect place to find among the best clothing stores in Québec City while you hunt for unique finds!

- Laurier Québec (8,2 km) : The region's largest shopping mall. Here you will find the biggest brands from here and abroad, as well as restaurants and gourmet counters for a full day's shopping.

History & Heritage:

 

- Parc et Musée des Plaines D’Abraham (1.6 km) : The Plains of Abraham are recognized as one of the world's largest and most prestigious urban parks, where leisure, culture and history meet. This historic site was the site of the famous Battle of Quebec on September 13, 1759, which decided the fate of America.

- La Citadelle (1.4 km) : At the top of the famous Cap Diamant lies the biggest British fortress in North America. Built by the British between 1820 and 1850 to defend the city, the Citadelle is a remarkable military heritage site.

- Fortifications-de-Québec et Parc de l’Artillerie (550 m) The fortifications surrounding Old Québec are close to 4.6 km in length. As you walk the walls, you'll learn about the defence system of North America's only fortified city.

 

 

Must-see attractions:

 

- Le Château Frontenac (1 km) : Located at the very top of Cap Diamant, this Québec City icon has been overlooking the St. Lawrence River and the Dufferin Terrace for over a century.

- La Place royale (900 m): A true historical gem, Place Royale is the official site of Québec City's founding. Its unique architecture bears authentic witness to the French and British influences that shaped the city's urban planning.

- La Colline parlementaire (1.5 km) : Parliament Hill is named after the Hôtel du Parlement, home of the National Assembly. In front of the Parliament Building, Fontaine de Tourny's 43 water jets and graceful figures immediately draw the eye.

- Le Vieux-Port: From the hotel's doorstep, discover the picturesque streets of the Old Port, perfect for strolling through art galleries and antique stores. It's also the starting point for a boat trip on the majestic St. Lawrence River.

 

 

In the surrounding area:

 

- La Chute Montmorency (11 km) : The waterfall is an awe-inspiring 83 m. You can admire the stunning views from the cable car, from the many lookout points throughout the site or from the stairs climbing up the side of the promontory.

- L’île d’Orléans (14.4 km): Take a tour of Île d'Orléans and appreciate its rural landscapes and gourmet treasures. With its ancestral homes dating back to the 17th century, the island is a true guardian of French American heritage. From mid-June to mid-October, the bustle of shops and kiosks is at its peak, while the colors of the landscape change with the seasons. 

- Wendake (14.8 km) : Find out about the Huron-Wendat Nation at Wendake, a self-governing territory in the midst of Québec City. Explore the traditional know-how of this nation by visiting the Huron-Wendat Museum and the authentic craft shops that surround it.

- Le Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier (50 km) : One of Quebec's most beautiful glacial valleys, covering an area of 670 km2. Here you can enjoy a wide range of activities, including hiking, canoeing, fishing and much more.

- Musée de la Civilisation (800 m) : The most popular museum in Québec City. A unique, different and entertaining museum where the focus is on participation and interaction. It takes a fresh look at local culture and other societies. More than ten exhibitions and multiple activities for the whole family.

- Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (2.7 km): Located in the heart of the Plains of Abraham, the Museum presents exhibitions featuring Québec artists, past and present, and prestigious international art exhibitions

- Festivals and events: The city is a never-ending stage for festive cultural activities and major events.

In February:
The Québec Winter Carnival has been delighting our winters every year since 1955.

In July:
The Quebec City Summer Festival welcomes world-renowned artists every summer.

In August:
The Quebec City skyline lights up during the themed evenings of the Grands Feux Loto-Québec.
For a weekend, the Fêtes de la Nouvelle-France take us back to the early days of the founding of Quebec City.
The Old Port is also abuzz with activity, with Plein Art showcasing local artisans and Festibière showcasing the expertise of local brewers.

In September:
Following the Tour de France, the world's best cyclists take to the streets of Old Quebec for the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec.

In December:
During the Québec City German Christmas Market, Old Québec is transformed into a magical Christmas village with the festive ambience of the great European markets.
To end the year on a high, music, fireworks and joie de vivre await you at the Toboggan - Soirées du Nouvel An festival.
